OUR MISSION
The New Smyrna Beach Sky Fest strives to “inspire, motivate, and educate” while providing safe, family-oriented entertainment. We focus on making a difference through community partnership and the love of aviation. Over almost 10 years, this weekend event continued to provide multiple benefits to the surrounding community through its charitable partnership with nonprofit and civic groups, as well as to families and all those who have a love for aviation. It has had a significant impact on the local economy, thanks to the generous support of local and national businesses. The City of New Smyrna Beach is proud to support this event to encourage community cohesiveness, collaboration, education and the celebration of the Airport's military history. Sky Fest is one of a only few airshows hosted in Central Florida and past events have drawn upwards of 25,000 people to New Smyrna Beach!
Throughout history, discoveries in aviation have been revealed as innovators play with ideas often outside the boundaries of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). We are delighted to provide an interactive opportunity in our “Inspiration Village” for anyone with STEM related interests to play and explore with some novel exhibits. Children will be able to engage in STEM related hands-on exhibits every day, including robotics and marine sciences. All participants will be encouraged to interact with airshow pilots and explore static aviation displays. Visitors will enjoy incredible aerial performances, helicopter and fixed wing rides, animal encounters and a petting zoo that will help to support local rescue centers.
